18-02-2021: Mrs. Pooja Thakur who got 08 votes was today declared elected as chairperson against her opponent contestant Shareefa Begum who was able to secure 06 votes in the Kishtwar DDC chairperson elections which were held today in Conference Hall DC office Kishtwar.
Whereas Saima Parveen Lone who got 07 votes was declared elected as Vice-Chairperson by defeating her nearest rival contestant namely Hans Raj by 02 Votes who got 05 votes in a triangular contest. Independent Candidate Mohd Zafarullah got only 02 votes during the contest for the post of Vice-Chairperson.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma also administered the oath of office to Pooja Thakur as Chairperson and Saima Parveen Lone as Vice Chairperson of District Development Council Kishtwar, here in a ceremony held in the conference hall DC office Kishtwar.
Elected DDC members, Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd Hanief Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar, Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal, Assistant commissioner Revenue Dr. Amir Hussain besides other district officers, officials, and Prominent citizens remained present during the oath ceremony.
Earlier after the postponement of the elections for the post DDC chairperson and vice-chairperson Kishtwar due to lack of quorum on 13 Feb 2021, District administration Kishtwar headed by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today conducted the election for the said posts of the DDC chairperson and vice-chairperson in a free, fair and transparent manner.
The entire exercise from conducting meetings for the elections, filling up the nomination forms, Scrutiny of nomination forms, voting,counting, and declaration of results was held under the close supervision of a presiding officer, DC, Kishtwar.
