NEW DELHI, Aug 10: Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday reviewed the functioning and infrastructure of Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across the country during a meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Education.
The meeting examined the overall functioning of the schools, the status of infrastructure and other issues requiring government attention. Joshi also discussed steps to address identified concerns and improve facilities available to students.
The minister stressed the importance of maintaining a supportive and conducive environment for learning in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
In a post on X, Joshi said he chaired a meeting with senior ministry officials to take stock of matters related to Kendriya Vidyalayas nationwide. He said officials briefed him on school operations, infrastructure and areas that needed intervention.
Joshi also reviewed measures aimed at improving school facilities and resolving issues affecting the effective functioning of KVs. He emphasised that the schools should continue to offer students an environment that supports quality education and overall development.
The review comes a day after Joshi met senior officials, including the Education Secretary, to discuss matters related to the National Testing Agency (NTA).
That meeting focused on strengthening institutional mechanisms, streamlining examination procedures and making the testing agency more responsive to the concerns of students.
Joshi took charge of the Education Ministry on July 26 after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the position amid student protests linked to the NEET-UG paper leak controversy.
The latest review of Kendriya Vidyalayas is part of the ministry’s broader focus on improving educational institutions, strengthening administrative systems and addressing issues affecting students and schools.
