The Indian superhero universe is set to expand as director Prasanth Varma unveils the first look of his upcoming film, Adhira. The film stars SJ Suryah and Kalyan Dasari in lead roles and is directed by Sharan Koppisetty. The poster, shared by Varma on X (formerly Twitter), immediately caught attention with its dramatic visuals: an erupting volcano, flowing lava, striking lightning, and floating rock formations form the backdrop for the two protagonists.
Kalyan Dasari is seen clad in a heavy armored suit resembling a warrior from a bygone era, while SJ Suryah dons a black costume with a horned headgear. Prasanth Varma captioned the poster, “When darkness blooms the world, a LIGHTNING of hope emerges. Presenting Kalyan Dasari and SJ Suryah in ADHIRA. A New SUPERHERO from Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe.”
Produced by Priwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios, the film sees Varma as the creator of the story.
Varma also provided updates on his ambitious mythological project, Jai Hanuman, following the success of HanuMan starring Teja Sajja. Actor Rishab Shetty, renowned for the blockbuster Kantara, will portray Lord Hanuman in this upcoming film.
Describing it as his dream project, Varma said, “Jai Hanuman combines mythology with modern filmmaking. It is not just about the devotion and courage of Lord Hanuman, but also about reminding us that faith and strength together can move mountains.”
The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series presenting it.
