New Delhi, Dec 4: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday extended warm greetings to Indian Navy personnel, veterans, and their families on Navy Day, lauding their courage, vigilance, and unwavering commitment in protecting India’s maritime borders and national interests.
In a post on X, the President highlighted the Navy’s critical role in securing trade routes, promoting the blue economy, and leading humanitarian missions, describing the force as a symbol of discipline, responsibility, and compassion.
Navy Day, observed annually on December 4, commemorates the Navy’s valour during the 1971 war with Pakistan, when it dealt decisive blows to the enemy. President Murmu said, “The nation salutes the brave men and women who safeguard our maritime borders and national interests with courage, vigilance and unwavering commitment.”
