President Murmu, PM Modi extend birthday greetings to J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah

Omar Abdullah turns 56; President, Prime Minister and top leaders convey best wishes

JAMMU, Mar 10: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended warm birthday greetings to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, wishing him a long life, good health and continued strength in public service.

Omar Abdullah, a former Union Minister and two-time Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, turned 56 on Tuesday. On the occasion, greetings and good wishes poured in from several prominent national and regional leaders.

According to officials, President Droupadi Murmu spoke to Omar Abdullah over the phone and personally conveyed her greetings on his birthday. The gesture was seen as a warm acknowledgment of Abdullah’s public role and continued political engagement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his wishes through a message posted on X. In his greeting, the Prime Minister said, “Greetings to Jammu and Kashmir CM Shri Omar Abdullah Ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with a long life and wonderful health.”

Responding to the message, Omar Abdullah thanked the Prime Minister for his greetings and good wishes.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also spoke to the Chief Minister and wished him a long life and sound health. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla joined the greetings as well, taking to X to extend his best wishes. In his message, Birla wished Abdullah good health, happiness and a long, fulfilling life.

Birthday greetings also came from outside Jammu and Kashmir. Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang extended his warm wishes to Omar Abdullah and prayed for his good health, strength and long life. He also expressed hope that Abdullah would continue serving the people with dedication and contribute to their welfare and progress.

The day saw a stream of messages from political leaders and well-wishers, reflecting Omar Abdullah’s continuing presence in national and regional public life.
