President Murmu Launches Women Welfare Schemes in Delhi on March 2

New Delhi, Feb 28: President Droupadi Murmu is set to inaugurate four major initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment in Delhi on March 2, according to government officials.

The programmes include the ‘Saheli Pink Smart Card’, a free LPG cylinder assistance scheme, the ‘Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana’, and ‘Meri Punji Mera Adhikaar’. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the occasion as a significant moment for the women and daughters of the national capital.

“March 2 is a special day for the daughters and women of Delhi. In the esteemed presence of President Droupadi Murmu, several important schemes for women’s empowerment will be inaugurated,” the Chief Minister said.

Under the LPG support scheme, nearly 17 lakh women are expected to receive financial assistance, with funds transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through direct benefit transfer during Holi and Diwali.

The Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana restructures the earlier Ladli Scheme introduced in 2008. The revised programme aims to provide financial security and support continued education for girls from economically weaker sections. Officials stated that beneficiaries may receive up to ₹56,000 in phased instalments, linked to educational milestones from birth through graduation or diploma-level studies.

The launch comes as the BJP government marks one year in office in Delhi, highlighting its welfare initiatives and governance achievements.
