Representing Wayanad in Kerala, Priyanka joins her mother, Sonia Gandhi, and brother, Rahul Gandhi, in what is a rare occurrence of three family members serving simultaneously in Parliament.
Draped in a traditional cream Kasavu saree from Kerala, Priyanka took her oath in Hindi amid cheers of “Jodo Jodo, Bharat Jodo” from the Congress benches. She was accompanied by her family, including Sonia Gandhi, husband Robert Vadra, and her children Raihan and Miraya, who watched the proceedings from the visitors’ gallery.
The new MP upheld a red-and-black copy of the Constitution as she swore in—a gesture that mirrored her brother Rahul’s use of the same symbol during public meetings.
