Srinagar, Dec 18: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Thursday deferred the hearing in the Public Safety Act case involving Doda MLA Mehraj Malik, fixing December 27, 2025 as the next date for further proceedings.
Official sources said the court took up the matter as part of its ongoing final hearings in cases related to preventive detention. During Thursday’s proceedings, arguments were heard from one side, while submissions from the remaining side are scheduled to be presented on the next date of hearing.
The case against the legislator has seen multiple adjournments in the past, with the court granting time to both sides to complete their arguments. Sources indicated that the bench is likely to hear the remaining submissions on December 27 before taking a view on the matter.
