Punjab man arrested for issuing death threats to Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan

Gorakhpur Police track and nab accused from Ludhiana using mobile surveillance, investigation underway into motive behind the threat

Gorakhpur, Nov 4 :  Police have arrested a man from Punjab for allegedly abusing and threatening to kill BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan over the phone. The accused, identified as Ajay Kumar Yadav, son of Rampher Yadav and a resident of Ludhiana district, has been taken into custody and lodged in jail after being brought to Gorakhpur on transit remand.

According to a police report released on Tuesday, the incident occurred a few days ago when Ajay Kumar called Ravi Kishan, used abusive language, and issued a life threat. Following the call, the MP lodged a formal complaint with the police.

Acting swiftly, the police used technical surveillance and mobile location tracking to trace the accused to Ludhiana. The team arrested him and recovered the mobile phone used in making the threatening calls.

During interrogation, Ajay confessed to his actions and claimed that he was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Authorities are now investigating whether the threat stemmed from personal enmity or external provocation. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
