Punjab : In a move aimed at providing relief to consumers, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday announced significant price reductions on Verka milk and other dairy products. The revised rates will come into effect from September 22, 2025, benefiting households across the state.
Verka, the trusted brand of Milkfed Punjab’s state-backed farmers’ cooperative will reduce prices across its popular dairy range in line with GST 2.0 reforms that lowered tariffs on essential items.
Under the new pricing, Verka Ghee will be cheaper by ₹30–35 per kg, Table Butter by ₹30 per kg, Unsalted Butter by ₹35 per kg, Processed Cheese by ₹20 per kg, and UHT Milk (Standard, Toned & Double Toned) by ₹2 per litre. Ice Cream prices (gallons, bricks, and tubs) will drop by ₹10 per litre, while Paneer will be ₹15 per kg cheaper.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the price revision is designed to make dairy products more affordable, boost consumer demand, and strengthen Punjab’s cooperative sector. The initiative is also expected to enhance tax collections, ensure quality compliance, and provide much-needed support to households affected by rising inflation, while benefiting farmers by expanding sales volumes.
This consumer-friendly measure reflects the state government’s continued focus on balancing affordability, quality, and farmer welfare in Punjab’s dairy industry.
