Quetta Blast Leaves 6 Dead, Several Injured in Pakistan

Emergency declared in hospitals as 19 injured rushed for treatment after powerful explosion near Zarghoon Road.

At least six people were killed and several others injured on Tuesday following a powerful explosion in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, according to media reports.

The blast occurred near Zarghoon Road, The Express Tribune reported, quoting police officials who confirmed six fatalities and at least 19 injuries.

Following the incident, the Balochistan Health Department declared an emergency across hospitals in Quetta. “All consultants, doctors, pharmacists, staff nurses, and paramedical staff have been directed to remain present in the hospitals,” Health Secretary Mujeebur Rehman said.

Provincial Health Department Media Coordinator Dr. Waseem Baig added that the injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department and the Trauma Centre for urgent treatment.
