Nagpur, 28-12-2023 : Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader and Member of Parliament, criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a party event in Nagpur, Maharashtra, asserting that the BJP’s ideology resembles that of kings, characterized by a top-down approach with little room for dissent.
He emphasized the Congress party’s commitment to people’s power and democracy, contrasting it with what he perceives as the BJP’s centralization of authority. Gandhi accused the BJP of influencing key institutions, pointing to the dominance of a particular ideology in university leadership. Addressing unemployment concerns, he highlighted the need for job creation. Additionally, he reiterated the Congress’s promise to conduct a caste census if voted into power, envisioning it as a catalyst for development.
Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Chief, assured the implementation of the Nyay Yojana and women’s empowerment under the I.N.D.I.A alliance, seeking support in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Nagpur, historically significant for Mahatma Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar’s work, was described by Kharge as a battleground of ideologies, emphasizing progress versus the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) ideology. During the event, Congress workers were urged to contribute historical materials to the party’s archive in Delhi.
