Rahul Gandhi Claims 2024 Haryana Polls ‘Stolen’, Submits Alleged Evidence of Irregularities

“Operation Sarkar Chori”: Rahul Accuses Election Commission of Colluding with BJP in Poll Fraud
  • “Democracy Stolen, Constitution Murdered”: Rahul Gandhi’s Explosive Claim on Haryana Elections

New Delhi, Nov 5:  In a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission of India (ECI), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday alleged that the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections were “stolen” through a large-scale manipulation of electoral rolls, claiming that over 25 lakh fake entries were created as part of what he termed a “centralised operation.” He accused the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP to subvert democracy and ensure the ruling party’s victory.

Addressing a press conference at Indira Bhawan in New Delhi, Gandhi unveiled what he called “The H-Files”, a data-backed presentation he said was “proof” of a coordinated electoral fraud. “This was not an election but an organised theft of democracy. The Election Commission, under the direct influence of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, has converted a people’s mandate into a stolen victory,” the Congress leader declared.

According to Gandhi, the alleged manipulation included multiple fake entries, duplicate voter IDs, and invalid addresses across Haryana constituencies. “We have identified 25,41,144 fake voters—over five lakh duplicates, 93,000 with invalid addresses, and more than 19 lakh bulk entries. One out of every eight voters in Haryana was fake,” he claimed. Displaying images as evidence, Gandhi pointed to a “Brazilian model” whose photograph, he said, appeared 22 times across different polling booths in the Rai constituency under different names.

“The Election Commission and the BJP have carried out ‘Operation Sarkar Chori’, a systematic theft of democracy. The Prime Minister, the Home Minister, and the Haryana Chief Minister are not legitimately in government,” Gandhi said, asserting that his claims were backed by “100 per cent verified data.” He accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and two other commissioners of “betraying their constitutional duty” by enabling mass manipulation of the voter rolls.

He further alleged that BJP-linked individuals voted in both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, claiming that the fraudulent exercise was replicated in multiple states. “This is not limited to Haryana; it’s a national pattern. The same system of ‘vote chori’ is now being industrialised in Bihar ahead of the elections,” Gandhi said, warning that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process was being misused to delete genuine voters and inflate fake ones.

Calling the situation “a murder of democracy,” Gandhi urged India’s youth to stand up peacefully against what he described as “a wholesale theft of their constitutional rights.” “The Gen Z generation has the power to restore democracy with satya and ahimsa. Our democracy is being dismantled silently, brick by brick, through lies, manipulation, and fear. It’s time for India’s youth to reclaim their future,” he said.

Despite the denials, Gandhi reiterated that his findings expose a “centralised conspiracy” to manipulate voter lists, claiming that the Congress’ apparent defeat in Haryana—by a cumulative margin of just 22,779 votes across eight seats—was the result of systematic tampering. “The numbers speak for themselves. There was no election in Haryana, only an operation to retain power through deceit,” he said.

Gandhi added that the opposition INDIA bloc would work together to counter what he described as “a full-scale assault on democracy.” “Every opposition party understands what is happening. If the voter list is a lie, there is no democracy left. My duty is to tell the people of India the truth about the system they are living in,” he said, adding that the Supreme Court must take note of what he called “the most serious democratic violation in independent India.”
