New Delhi, 01-03-2024 : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi strongly criticized the BJP’s ‘double engine’ government in Uttar Pradesh, dismissing it as a mere facade and branding it as a ‘guarantee of Jungle Raj’ due to the alarming deterioration in the state’s law and order situation.
Taking to social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi lambasted the BJP’s claims of governance prowess, asserting that the grim reality of Uttar Pradesh’s lawlessness exposes the falsehood behind the ‘double engine’ narrative propagated by the ruling party and its media allies.
Highlighting gruesome incidents that have recently rocked the state, Rahul Gandhi pointed to the horrific discovery of minor sisters’ bodies hanging from trees, brutal murders involving victims being crushed with bricks, and the appalling gang rape of a woman on the premises of IIT-BHU allegedly by BJP members. He also referenced the tragic suicide of a female judge who was reportedly denied justice.
Expressing outrage at the dire state of affairs, Rahul Gandhi underscored the irony of Uttar Pradesh’s law and order system being lauded by the Modi-led media despite the rampant chaos and violence prevailing in the state.
Drawing attention to a recent heinous crime, Rahul Gandhi cited the brutal murder of a Dalit student on his way home from a class 10 exam in Rampur, purportedly in retaliation to demands for the construction of an Ambedkar memorial.
In response to these distressing events, Rahul Gandhi declared that Congress workers would vociferously demand justice in Uttar Pradesh. He announced plans for demonstrations against the BJP’s machinery and criminal elements across every district and tehsil in the state, emphasizing the urgent need to address the pervasive lawlessness and ensure accountability for the perpetrators of violence.
