Sikar Rajasthan, Oct 08 : In a repeat incident, more than 35 wagons of a Rewari bound goods train derailed near New Srimadhopur railway station in Sikar district on Wednesday morning, marking the second train derailment in the district in just two days.
The train, originating from Phulera Junction about 60 km from Jaipur, was headed towards Rewari in Haryana when the accident occurred, blocking a busy railway route. While railway officials are investigating the exact cause of the derailment, an eyewitness suggested that the loco driver may have attempted to avoid hitting an ox on the tracks.
No casualties have been reported, but several trains faced delays, with some diverted to alternative routes. Railway technical teams are working to clear the tracks and restore normal operations.
This comes a day after another goods train, traveling from Bikaner to Jaisalmer, derailed near Chani railway station in the Kolayat region, raising concerns over rail safety in the area.
