RAMBAN, DECEMBER 03: District Administration Ramban today condoled the demise of Teacher Mohammad Iqbal Malik who succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident while on way to election Duty.
A condolence meeting was held at District administrative Complex Maitra Ramban under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal to condole the sad demise of Mohammad Iqbal Naik, Teacher, Government High School Sarachi.
Teacher, Mohd Iqbal Naik met with an accident while he was on way to Ramban from Khari to join election duty as Presiding Officer for Polling Station Kharpura in DDC Gool Constituency.
The ill-fated Tata Sumo bearing registration No.JK03C-2724 skidded off the road at Digdole near Army Camp Ramban leaving three persons injured. The injured persons including Mohd Iqbql Naik, Teacher were shifted to District Hospital, Ramban for treatment. Observing his serious condition, Mohammad Iqbal Malik was shifted to SKIMS, Soura Srinagar for further treatment, where he succumbed.
Expressing profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Mohammad Iqbal Naik, the ADC said that it is a great loss to District Ramban in general and the Teaching fraternity in particular.
During the condolence meeting, heartfelt sympathies were conveyed to the bereaved family, and prayers were also offered for eternal peace to the departed soul.
A two-minute silence was also observed to pay homage to the departed soul.
State Election Commissioner, K.K Sharma today also condoled the demise of Mohammad Iqbal Naik, Teacher-High School Sarachi, resident of Khari, Banihal who was appointed as Presiding Officer for District Development Council Constituency, 05- Gool for Polling Station Kharpora.
The Presiding Officer lost his life in a road accident near Ramban while traveling to attend his official duties.
State Election Commissioner, while addressing a press conference, commended his dedication to his duties and also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. He also expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family members.
A two minutes silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
