Ramban Police Hosts Grand Volleyball Tournament to Boost Youth Engagement, Saiyam Club Claims Title

Civic Action Programme 2025: Ramban Police Organises Mega Volleyball Event to Promote Sports Culture

Jammu/Ramban,03-12-2025: In a spirited effort to promote sports culture, foster youth engagement, and deepen community-police cooperation, the Ramban District Police successfully organised an inter-district Volleyball Tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025. The initiative aimed to channel youthful energy into constructive activities, encourage a drug-free lifestyle, and strengthen bonds between law enforcement and the local population.

The tournament began with league matches held at the Sub-Divisional level across Ramban, witnessing enthusiastic participation from young players representing various areas. Eight teams qualified for the next stage and competed in the quarterfinals and semifinals held yesterday at the District Police Lines (DPL) Ramban. The matches were marked by exceptional teamwork, determination and competitive spirit.

The grand finale was held today at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Ramban, where a significant crowd comprising students, sports lovers, and local residents gathered to cheer for their teams. The event was presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ACR) Ramban, who served as the Chief Guest, while the Principal of GHSS Ramban attended as the Guest of Honour. Senior officers including SSP Ramban, Addl SP Ramban, DySP DAR Ramban, Tehsildar Ramban, along with officials from District Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) were also present, adding prominence to the occasion and ensuring the event proceeded smoothly.

After a series of nail-biting matches, FB Sports Banihal and Saiyam Club Ramban advanced to the final showdown. In an exciting contest that kept the audience engaged till the last point, Saiyam Club Ramban clinched the title and was crowned tournament champion. Jaffer, whose consistent performance stood out throughout the tournament, was honoured as the Best Player of the Tournament.

Addressing the players, SSP Ramban highlighted the transformative power of sports in shaping disciplined, focused and resilient young citizens. He encouraged the youth to continue participating in positive recreational activities and praised the spirit displayed by all teams.

The tournament was meticulously coordinated by DySP Kuldeep Kumar, DAR Ramban, under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban Sh Arun Gupta, JKPS. The Ramban Police extended sincere gratitude to all participating teams, the DYSS officials, school authorities and the local community for their cooperation, support and enthusiasm. Officials reiterated their commitment to organising more such youth-centric initiatives to further strengthen community engagement and promote healthy lifestyles across the district.
