Ranbir Kapoor Credits Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Shaping His Film Journey

Actor reunites with the filmmaker after 18 years for Love & War, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal

NEW DELHI, Sept 29: Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, who is reuniting with ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 18 years, showered praise on his mentor, crediting him for instilling the foundation of his acting craft.

Kapoor made his debut under Bhansali’s direction with Saawariya in 2007. The duo will now collaborate on the much-anticipated epic saga Love & War, slated for release on March 20, 2026, starring Kapoor alongside his wife Alia Bhatt and actor Vicky Kaushal.

Speaking during a live session on the Instagram account of his brand ARKS on the occasion of his 43rd birthday, Kapoor said:

“Love & War is directed by the man who taught me everything about cinema. Whatever I know about acting was seeded in by him. I worked with him 18 years ago, and while he was a master then, he’s an even bigger master today. I’m thrilled about this collaboration.”

The actor also expressed excitement about sharing screen space with his wife Alia Bhatt, whom he called “super talented,” and Vicky Kaushal, describing him as one of his “two favourite actors.”

The project marks Vicky Kaushal’s first association with Bhansali, while Alia Bhatt reunites with the director after the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), where she portrayed the titular role of a formidable mafia queen from Kamathipura.
