Mumbai, July 18 : Bollywood’s growing interest in the zombie genre has sparked fresh competition after reports suggested that Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming zombie thriller may reach cinemas ahead of Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated film Pralay.
The development could affect Pralay’s first mover advantage in a genre that remains relatively unexplored in Hindi cinema.
According to industry reports, Kartik Aaryan’s project, directed by Vishnuvardhan, is targeting an earlier theatrical release in 2027, potentially becoming Bollywood’s first large-scale commercial zombie franchise.
Meanwhile, Pralay continues to generate excitement following Ranveer Singh’s recent success, with producers reportedly planning an action-packed cinematic experience inspired by international zombie blockbusters.
Trade analysts believe the simultaneous arrival of two ambitious zombie films reflects Bollywood’s willingness to experiment with fresh storytelling and global genres.
If both projects meet audience expectations, they could open a completely new chapter for horror-action cinema in India.
