Home Minister chairs high level meeting with top security officials, NIA and Delhi Police launch extensive probe into the explosion near Red Fort.

New Delhi, Nov 11: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting to review the security situation in Delhi and across the country following the powerful blast near the Red Fort that claimed 12 lives.

According to sources, the meeting was attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, and NIA Director General Sadanand Vasant Date. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat also participated virtually.

Officials presented detailed assessments of the situation and ongoing investigations into the explosion. Shah directed agencies to conduct a thorough probe, stressing that all leads must be pursued to identify and bring the culprits to justice.

The explosion occurred on Monday evening when a slow moving car blew up at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station, killing 12 people and gutting several vehicles. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police have registered cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act, with raids being conducted at multiple locations.
