New Delhi, Nov 11: The death toll in the powerful blast near Delhi’s Red Fort climbed to 12 on Tuesday after three more victims succumbed to their injuries, officials said.
The explosion occurred on Monday evening when a slow-moving car detonated at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station, leaving several vehicles damaged. Initially, nine people were reported dead and 20 others injured.
Following the incident, the Delhi Police registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act. Multiple raids are being conducted across the national capital as investigators probe possible terror links.
Security has been heightened across Delhi, with intensified checks at the airport, railway stations, metro networks, and bus terminals. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant as forensic teams continue to analyse evidence from the blast site.
