New Delhi, Nov 18 : Amid the ongoing investigation into the Red Fort car blast of November 10 that claimed 15 lives, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) carried out extensive searches across multiple locations in the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday morning. The operation marks a significant escalation in the Red Fort blast probe, with investigators widening their net beyond the Valley.
Simultaneously, a coordinated search was launched at 25 locations across Delhi, Haryana, and other cities, targeting Al-Falah University and its trustees. One of the key accused in the blast case, Dr Muzammil, was previously employed at the Faridabad-based university.
According to ANI, raids began around 5 am, shortly after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) against Al-Falah University earlier this week to investigate suspected financial irregularities.
ED teams conducted simultaneous searches at offices, shell firms, entities, and residences linked to the university’s trustees and associated persons, working closely with local police units. The operation focused on examining financial flows, trust activities, and businesses believed to be connected to the accused individuals.
On Monday, Delhi Police registered two separate FIRs against Al-Falah University after its links to the terror module surfaced. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has already revoked the institution’s membership.
While one FIR is tied to allegations of cheating, the second pertains to forgery-related offences.
Police also served two summonses to Javed Ahmad Siddiqui on Monday in connection with the FIRs, filed based on a complaint by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Investigators believe Siddiqui’s testimony is crucial for clarifying operational gaps within the university and understanding the activities of individuals associated with it.
The probe continues to expand as agencies work to map the entire network behind the blast.
