Jammu, November 30: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district have detained an alleged criminal under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA), a police official reported on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Gulam Rehmani, alias “Bachu,” a resident of Rakh Barotian, has been implicated in several criminal cases registered at Vijaypur Police Station. His activities were deemed a “serious threat” to public peace and harmony, the official stated.
Given his persistent involvement in unlawful activities, the Samba district magistrate issued a detention order based on a comprehensive dossier prepared by the police. Acting on the order, a police team apprehended Rehmani and placed him in District Jail, Kathua.
