Actress Rashmi Sharma Rai Joins KV No. 2 Alumni in Jammu for Heartfelt 1991 Batch Reunion

Jammu, Nov 13: The KV No. 2 Jammu Alumni Meet for the 1991 batch unfolded as a remarkable gathering, radiating nostalgia and reconnecting friendships after over three decades. Held at Aureum Grand Hotels and Resorts, on the Jammu-Pathankot Highway near Thandi Khui, the event drew alumni from across the country to celebrate their shared roots and achievements.

Rashmi Sharma Rai, the Mumbai-based actress, producer, and director known for her contributions to television and films, was a star presence at the reunion. Returning to her hometown, she expressed pride in attending the event and reminisced about the values KV No. 2 instilled in her. The reunion provided alumni an opportunity to revisit fond memories and honor the school that shaped their formative years.

Organized by the school’s alumni association, the event featured a robust itinerary, including speeches from distinguished alumni, live performances, and a recognition ceremony celebrating achievements within the alumni community. Attendees were treated to a nostalgic slideshow capturing the essence of their school days, while a tribute segment honored the retired teachers who contributed to their education and development. Revered former teachers Sadhna Kachru, Rita Bhaskar, and KD Sharma graced the event, receiving a warm reception from their former students.

The reunion began with a heartfelt welcome for alumni who traveled from various parts of India, including Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Calicut, Guwahati, and Noida. Among those present were Dushyant Kaul, Gopal Sharma, Gurmeet Singh Kala, Rupesh Masson, Sunil Patihar, Pranjal Phukan, Kapil Vig, Shivdev Singh, Jogesh Pathaneni, Sudhakaran, Rajneesh, Rakesh Jamwal, Pawan Dabgitra, Meenakshi Rathore, Manju Chauhan, Sonia Sharma, Sheetal Sharma, and Anju Sharma.

Rashmi Rai shared how growing up in Jammu and the influence of her father, the former Director of AIR Jammu and Srinagar who championed Dogri language and culture, profoundly impacted her artistic journey. Reflecting on the immense talent in Jammu, she noted the region’s potential but emphasized the need for more opportunities to help artists refine and showcase their talents.

Interactive sessions encouraged attendees to share personal and professional journeys, rekindling bonds and sparking future collaborations. Alumni described the event as deeply moving, expressing gratitude for the chance to relive school memories and strengthen their connections. “This reunion has rekindled the spirit of our school days and brought our community closer,” one participant shared.
