New Delhi, Nov 17 : BJP leader Boora Narsaiah Goud on Monday claimed that rifts within political families often arise from disputes over power sharing and large amounts of “wealth amassed through corruption,” adding that the situation in Bihar is a clear example.
Goud’s remarks came in response to Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who recently launched a public attack on her younger brother Tejashwi Yadav. She alleged humiliation, mistreatment, and exclusion by Tejashwi and his close aides, RJD MP Sanjay Yadav and Rameez.
In a series of emotional posts on X following an alleged family fallout, Rohini wrote that she had been “thrown out of the family” and blamed for the RJD’s poor performance in the recent Bihar Assembly elections. She claimed she faced verbal abuse and even an attempt to assault her with a slipper.
“When you take Sanjay and Rameez’s names, you are defamed and attacked… a daughter, a sister, a married woman, and a mother was humiliated,” she alleged, adding that she refused to compromise her self-respect.
This is not the first time the Yadav family has faced internal discord. Tejashwi’s elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, earlier quit the RJD to form his own political outfit, the Janshakti Janata Dal.
The RJD suffered a significant setback in the Bihar polls held on November 14, 2025, dropping from 75 seats to 25. The Congress, its ally, also fared poorly, winning only six out of 61 seats.
