Jammu, 10 October 2025:The BJP OBC Morcha Jammu & Kashmir today organized a felicitation ceremony at the BJP Head Office, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to honor Rigved, an international-level pencak silat player who brought pride to the Union Territory by winning gold medal in the Pencak Silat Junior Asian Championship held at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar.
Sat Sharma CA, President BJP Jammu & Kashmir, felicitated Rigved for his outstanding performance in presence of The several senior & prominent leaders of the BJP and OBC Morcha, including Baldev Singh Bilawaria (State General Secretary BJP JKUT), Braham Jyot Satti (State President BJP OBC Morcha), Rajesh Gupta (District President Jammu), Ravi Sharma (District General Secretary Jammu), Suneet Raina ( District general Secretary BJP ) , Sunny Sangotra (District Secretary), Ashok Salgotra (OBC District President Jammu), Ram Paul (District President Jammu South), Suresh Salgotra (State Vice President OBC Morcha), Ashok Kumar (Vice President Jammu South), Suraj Parkash ( District President OBC Samba ) , Rakesh Thackeray (District General Secretary), Hans Raj (District Secretary), Sanjay Verma, Rakesh Pandey (Mandal President OBC), Pawan Salgotra (Mandal General Secretary OBC), and Yousuf Telli.
While speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma CA, lauded the young champion for his remarkable achievement and urged the youth to draw inspiration from Rigved’s dedication and hard work. He emphasized that young people should stay away from drugs and other harmful habits and instead engage themselves in sports and productive activities that build discipline and character.
Sat Sharma CA further stated that the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a major boost to sports infrastructure and athlete welfare through initiatives like Khelo India and Fit India Movement. He said that these programmes are not only identifying hidden talent from rural and urban areas but also giving them a platform to shine at national and international levels.
He added that youth are the real strength of the nation, and their active participation in sports, skill development, and nation-building activities is crucial for shaping a strong and progressive India and every medal, every success story from Jammu & Kashmir, fills the hearts of all with pride. The government and the party stand firmly behind such talents who are raising the tricolour on global platforms.

Braham Jyot Satti further said that under the guidance of senior BJP leadership, the OBC Morcha is working tirelessly to promote sports, education, and skill-based initiatives among the youth belonging to the OBC community.
