RIL, Adani, Google, Lightspeed Lead $240 Billion Investment Pledges at AI Summit

RIL, Adani, Google and Tata lead massive AI investment push as 92 nations endorse summit declaration

NEW DELHI — Leading conglomerates and global technology firms announced a combined investment commitment of $240 billion during the India AI Impact Summit 2026, positioning the country as a major hub for artificial intelligence development.

Among the biggest pledges, Reliance Industries committed $110 billion over seven years toward AI-driven infrastructure, while Adani Enterprises outlined plans to invest $100 billion by 2035. Venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners announced a $10 billion allocation, and General Catalyst committed $5 billion over five years.

Tech major Google also unveiled significant initiatives, with CEO Sundar Pichai highlighting new India–US subsea cable routes and a proposed $15 billion AI hub in Visakhapatnam. Meanwhile, the Tata Group announced a collaboration with OpenAI to expand AI-ready data centre capacity.

Held from February 16 to 21, the summit drew approximately six lakh in-person attendees, along with delegations from over 100 countries and 20 international organisations. Officials described it as the largest AI-focused gathering to date.

More than $200 billion of the pledged funds are expected to flow into AI infrastructure, foundation models, hardware manufacturing and application development. The India AI Impact Summit Declaration received endorsement from 92 countries and global bodies, while the New Delhi Frontier AI Impact Commitments were signed by 13 prominent model developers to promote responsible and inclusive AI growth.

A major policy announcement included the expansion of India’s sovereign compute capacity. Beyond the 38,000 GPUs already deployed under the IndiaAI Mission, an additional 20,000 units are set to be added in the coming weeks to strengthen national AI capabilities.

The AI Impact Expo, a key component of the summit, featured over 850 exhibitors across 10 thematic pavilions, underscoring the scale of global participation and the growing momentum around artificial intelligence in India.
