Delhi, Oct 08 : Former Indian kabaddi star and JioStar expert Rishank Devadiga praised Fazel Atrachali’s leadership and determination following Dabang Delhi K.C.’s thrilling win over defending champions Haryana Steelers in the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12).
The high voltage encounter ended 33-33 in regular time before Delhi clinched victory 9-3 in the tie breaker. Speaking on KBD Live, Rishank lauded the intensity of the contest and highlighted Fazel’s performance in his milestone 200th PKL appearance the most by any player in league history.
“Every time Fazel steps on the mat, he gives his absolute best. His confident approach, super raid, and celebration reflected his unmatched passion and experience. He continues to inspire Delhi’s defence with his leadership,” Rishank said.
Rishank also credited Surjeet Narwal for his crucial tackle in the tie breaker, which turned the tide in Delhi’s favour.
“Surjeet didn’t score in regular time but delivered when it mattered most. His first tackle on Vishal Tate gave Delhi a decisive edge,” he noted.
With skipper Ashu Malik sidelined due to injury, Ajinkya Pawar and Neeraj Narwal stepped up in the raiding department. Rishank praised their maturity and impactful play:
“Ajinkya’s variety and calmness under pressure stood out. His super raid and running hand touch against Haryana were crucial. If his partnership with Neeraj continues, Delhi will be a strong contender in upcoming matches.”
Turning to the day’s second fixture, Rishank applauded Arjun Deshwal’s record breaking performance for Tamil Thalaivas, who ended their home leg with a dominant 56-37 win over Patna Pirates.
“Arjun was unstoppable, earning 26 raid points from 28 attempts the best of his career. His consistency lifted the entire team’s spirit, and the Thalaivas looked like a complete side,” Rishank said.
He, however, expressed disappointment over the Pirates’ performance:
“Patna’s defence faltered completely, managing just two tackle points. They’ll need to regroup fast if they want to stay in playoff contention.”
As the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 progresses, Fazel Atrachali’s 200th match and Arjun Deshwal’s historic raid display have added memorable chapters to the tournament’s rich narrative proving once again why kabaddi remains one of India’s most electrifying sports.
