Road Safety Month: RTO Kathua Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa organises Vehicle Fitness camp

DC Kathua distributes VFCs on final day of campaign

KATHUA, JANUARY 19: On the culmination day of National Road Safety Month 2021, Regional Transport Office Kathua today organized UT Level Vehicle Fitness Mela in the premises of the RTO Office.

The valedictory function was attended by Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash, SSP Kathua Shailendra Mishra, ARTO Kathua besides a large number of vehicle owners.

On the occasion, the live streaming of the culmination ceremony along with the e-launching of additional online services by the Transport Department by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was also organized.

The Deputy Commissioner, while speaking on the occasion, said the initiative of the Transport Department to provide a wide range of services through online mode will benefit the people, who can now avail these services without visiting the RTO office. He said the objective of the organizing annual Road Safety month was to sensitize all stakeholders to adopt safe driving and motivate them to abide by road safety rules.

Regional Transport Officer, Raj Kumar Thapa informed that with the e-inauguration of Learner License Test Facilities by Lieutenant Governor JKUT Manoj Sinha, ITI Kathua will now provide technical support in organizing learner license test facility which will minimize the waiting time to a great extent. He said the department of transport is taking a slew of measures to facilitate applicants which is gradually decreasing the footfall in Regional Transport Offices. He informed that a total of 130 vehicles were issued fitness certificates.

Later, the Chief Guest distributed the vehicle fitness certificates to the vehicle owners.
