Rs 1 Crore Cash Seized From Car in Rohtak During Security Check Following Red Fort Blast

Police intercept vehicle from Jhajjar, uncover large bundles of currency amid heightened vigilance following Red Fort terror attack

Rohtak, Nov 12 – Police in Rohtak seized Rs 1 crore in cash from a car during routine security checks, officials said on Tuesday. The operation comes amid heightened alert in the wake of Monday evening’s Red Fort blast in Delhi, with authorities closely monitoring vehicular movement across the district.

Rohtak Superintendent of Police S S Bhoria stated that a police team, led by Inspector Rakesh Saini of Shivaji Colony Police Station, stopped a vehicle traveling from Jhajjar carrying four men. Upon inspection, the officers discovered bundles of Rs 500, Rs 200, and Rs 100 notes in the backpacks of the two rear-seat occupants.

The total cash, amounting to Rs 1 crore, was seized and deposited with the Rohtak Treasury. The Income Tax Department has also been notified of the incident.

Authorities emphasized that security checks across the district have intensified following the Red Fort blast, with police maintaining constant vigilance to prevent suspicious activities.
