Chandigarh, 12-10-2023 : In a significant address in Chandigarh, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasized the intrinsic connection between Sanatan Dharma and India’s cultural identity. He underscored the role of Sanatan Dharma in shaping the nation’s ethos and values, refuting recent comments by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, who called for its eradication. Bhagwat’s remarks were made during an event held at the Baba Mastnath Math in Haryana’s Rohtak.
Sanatan Dharma, according to Bhagwat, is synonymous with India, encapsulating the essence of the country. “Our culture is based on Sanatan. The values of our religion are based on Sanatan,” he stated. He emphasized that Sanatan is eternal, transcending time and space. It has been present in the past, exists in the present, and will continue to endure in the future. Prominent figures such as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister V K Singh, Yoga guru Ramdev, Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and his son, Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda, were in attendance at the event.
Adityanath, referring to global conflicts, highlighted the role of Sanatan Dharma in promoting world peace and India’s significance as a beacon of hope. He emphasized that when turmoil afflicts the world, countries look toward India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for hope and strength. He noted the impact of unity among India’s 140 crore citizens in influencing the world positively.
Adityanath acknowledged the Nath sampraday as a custodian of India’s Sanatan Dharma tradition. Additionally, he discussed the progress of the under-construction Ram temple in Ayodhya, crediting the faith and determination of those who upheld the values of Sanatan Dharma.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah had unveiled a statue of Mahant Shri Chand Nath Yogi at the Baba Mastnath Math in Rohtak and addressed a gathering on the preceding day, further reinforcing the significance of Sanatan Dharma and its deep-rooted connection with India’s heritage and culture.
