NEW DELHI, July 23: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday launched Saffron Surge: Making of a Brave, New Bharat, a new book authored by former Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Vijay, at the Sangh’s Keshav Kunj headquarters in the national capital.
The publication presents the author’s perspective on India’s civilisational journey and the ideological evolution that, according to him, has shaped the emergence of a “New Bharat.” It explores themes such as cultural resurgence, decolonisation of the Indian mindset, Param Vaibhav and the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, while tracing developments from the colonial era to contemporary India.
Bhagwat, who has written the foreword to the book, described Tarun Vijay as both an observer and an active participant in the country’s transformation. He noted that the publication combines analysis, commentary and reflections that could serve as a reference for those working towards strengthening India’s cultural identity and global standing.
The RSS chief further observed that the book offers insights into India’s ongoing journey to restore its historical confidence, self-respect and aspirations of emerging as a leading global civilisation.
Adding to the volume, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has penned the prologue, describing the work as a contemporary narrative capturing the ideological changes witnessed in the country over the years. The book also features endorsements from author Amish Tripathi and RSS thinker Ratan Sharda.
Speaking during the launch event, Tarun Vijay said the book chronicles what he believes is the rise of a self-assured Hindu society alongside India’s expanding influence on the global stage. He said the work reflects a renewed interest in India’s civilisational roots while highlighting the country’s achievements in science, technology and national development.
According to Vijay, the idea of a globally confident Hindu identity is closely linked with the values of Sanatan Dharma, which he described as being rooted in harmony, inclusiveness, scientific outlook and universal welfare. He asserted that this cultural resurgence has significantly influenced India’s national discourse and international image.
The author also claimed that the growing revival of Sanatan traditions has challenged forces that, in his view, have historically opposed India’s civilisational heritage.
The book launch ceremony was attended by several prominent personalities, including Supreme Court advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, economist and Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council member Sanjeev Sanyal, RSS Delhi Prant Sanghchalak Anil Agrawal and Haranand Publishers representative Ashish Anand. The gathering marked the official release of the publication, which seeks to present a perspective on India’s evolving national identity and cultural renaissance.
