S C Murmu Appointed as Deputy Governor of RBI by Government

Shirish Chandra Murmu takes charge for a three-year term, currently serving as RBI Executive Director

NEW DELHI, Sep 29 : The government has officially appointed Shirish Chandra Murmu as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India for a three year term. The decision was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, sources confirmed on Monday.

Murmu, who is currently serving as Executive Director at the RBI, will assume charge as one of the top policymakers at India’s central bank, playing a key role in shaping monetary and regulatory policies. His appointment comes at a time when the RBI continues to focus on strengthening financial stability and supporting economic growth.
