New Delhi, Oct 18 : An old rivalry between two groups erupted into violence on Friday night in Majra village, Sabarkantha, Gujarat, leaving several injured and causing extensive property damage. Reports indicate that more than 20 two wheelers, at least 10 four-wheelers, and multiple house windows were set on fire or vandalised during the clashes.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Atul Patel told ANI that the conflict began around 10:30 pm, with both groups resorting to stone-pelting and arson. Police quickly deployed forces to restore law and order and have registered an FIR against approximately 110–120 people.
So far, around 20 individuals have been detained, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the incident. Approximately 10 people sustained injuries during the violence. The authorities confirmed that the clashes stemmed from a long-standing rivalry between the two groups.
