Jammu, 06-08-2025: The chief convener and president of the Sainik Samaj Party, JKUT, urged the union government to give a separate UT/state to the people of the Jammu region, who have been discriminated against, exploited, subjugated, oppressed, and living under the threat of demographic jihad for almost 8 decades. Considering the Pahalgam incident and the involvement of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Munir, with a jihadi mindset, he will give new dimensions to militancy, and he has already declared militant outfits as strategic assets to the proxy war waged in JKUT for almost 35 years.
Pakistan has been further emboldened by strong support being given by China, which wants India to be weakened economically and militarily. Restoration of statehood will only shift the powers of the lieutenant governor, which include internal security, maintenance of law and order, posting, selection, and so on, and will in no way enhance our capabilities of crushing the militancy.
Unnecessary pressure is being used by NC, Congress, and other parties of the India alliance to demand the early restoration of statehood, which, in no way, is in the national interest and can not be justified under the present circumstances. People of the Jammu region have been demanding justice from the Union government for many years, and now is the time to fulfill their aspirations and deliver justice.
The Jammu region is celebrating 6 years of revocation of draconian Article 370, and on the other side, political masters of the Kashmir region are observing a black day, clearly demarcating two different mindsets, i.e., the nationalist people of the Jammu region and the pro-Pakistan people of the Kashmir region.
Pathania said that an area of 42000 square kilometers, with mountainous and hilly regions, can not be effectively administered or governed on a permanent basis; hence, the right course is to make Kashmir and Jammu UT, ensuring all-round development and welfare of people. Suitable provisions of Article 371, as in vogue in northeastern states, can be suitably applied in both the UTs, as considered appropriate by the Union government, paving the way for peace and development.
