Sanjay Raut Hospitalised, Takes Two Month Break from Public Life

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP cites serious health issues; PM Modi wishes him a speedy recovery

Mumbai, Nov 1: In a major setba ck to the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) ahead of the crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has been hospitalised and announced a temporary break from public life due to health issues.

Sharing an update on his condition on X (formerly Twitter), the 63-year-old leader and close aide of Uddhav Thackeray revealed that he has been facing serious health problems. “You have always shown love and faith in me, but suddenly my health has worsened. I am undergoing treatment,” he wrote.

Raut has been admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mulund, Mumbai, after feeling unwell for several days. Doctors attending to him have advised complete rest and have asked him to avoid travel and large gatherings for at least two months.

Expressing optimism about his recovery, Raut added, “I am confident that I will regain my health soon and meet you all in the New Year. Your love and blessings mean a lot to me.”

Raut, a four-time Rajya Sabha member and Executive Editor of the Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana, has been a key strategist for the MVA alliance. His temporary absence is expected to impact the Shiv Sena (UBT)’s BMC poll preparations.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes for Raut’s recovery, posting on X: “Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji.”

Raut responded with gratitude, thanking the Prime Minister and saying, “Respected Prime Minister Ji, thank you! My family is grateful to you! Jai Hind! Jai Maharashtra!”
