SHENZHEN, Sept 6: India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty produced a strong comeback to capture the China Masters Super 750 title, defeating China’s He Jiting and Ren Xiangyu in a hard fought final on Sunday.
The Indian pair lost the opening game 11-21 but responded impressively to take the second 21-13 before sealing the deciding game 21-17.
The victory ended a long wait for the Indian duo at the prestigious tournament and provided an important boost ahead of the Asian Games.
Satwik and Chirag showed greater control as the contest progressed, improving their defence and maintaining their composure during the crucial stages of the deciding game. Their ability to recover after a difficult opening game proved decisive.
The Chinese pair made a strong start and kept the Indians under pressure early in the final. However, Satwik and Chirag gradually found their rhythm and turned the momentum around in the second game.
