Scholarship Programs Expand Opportunities for Students in 2026

Educational institutions and private organisations launch fresh financial aid initiatives

New Delhi, May 17: Several scholarship initiatives announced across the country are expected to provide financial support to students pursuing higher education during the 2026 academic year. Universities and private educational organisations have introduced merit-based and aptitude-based schemes to reduce the financial burden on students and families.

Educational experts said online aptitude tests and scholarship assessments are becoming increasingly popular as institutions attempt to widen access to professional and online degree programmes. Many schemes are focused on supporting students from economically weaker sections and rural backgrounds.

Officials noted that scholarship awareness campaigns are also increasing after Class 12 board examinations, encouraging students to apply early for grants, tuition waivers and financial assistance programs.

Education analysts believe the rising number of scholarship schemes reflects growing competition among institutions and the expanding demand for affordable higher education in India.
