SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22: As part of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” campaign, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Kashmir in collaboration with Lakes And Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) Srinagar, today launched a one-month long cleanliness drive in Dal Lake area covering 2.5 square kilometers.
Nearly, 100 SDRF personnel and 10 motorboats have been deployed for the successful conduct of this ambitious drive.
DGP and Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF, V K Singh, along with SSP, Commandant SDRF First Battalion Srinagar, Haseeb-Ur-Rehman, visited Dal Lake to supervise the cleanliness drive.
Officers from LAWDA, Executive Engineer, and Assistant Executive Engineer LAWDA were present.
The joint team took an extensive tour of the Lake and had a detailed review of several works being executed in the lake including the uprooting of water Lilly and de-weeding.
DGP assured full support and cooperation to LAWDA for the complete cleaning of the world-famous Dal Lake.
