Search Operation Launched To Track Suspected Terrorists In J&K’s Doda

Security forces cordon off village and adjoining forests in Thathri’s Bhallara area

Doda/Jammu, Sep 13: Security forces have intensified a search operation in a remote village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district after reports of movement of three suspected terrorists, a senior police officer said on Saturday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Mehta, said the operation was launched in the Bhallara area of Thathri on Friday evening and continued through Saturday.

Police personnel, assisted by Army units, cordoned off a vast area covering the village and adjoining forests, though no contact has yet been established with the suspects, officials added.

The situation in Doda remains tense following the detention of AAP state president and local MLA Meraj Malik under the Public Safety Act (PSA) on Monday. Security lockdown measures are in place across the district, with authorities maintaining strict vigil to prevent any untoward incident.
