Secretary RDD lays foundation stone of Library Building at Gurah Salathia

SAMBA JANUARY, 23: Secretary, Rural Development Department, and Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda, today laid the foundation stone of  Library building, here at Panchayat Gurah Salathia in Block Vijaypur.

It was informed that the Library building coming up near the local Government High School, would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 21.0 Lakh under the 13 FC scheme by the Rural Development Department.

A Nukkad Natak was presented by the school students – highlighting various development schemes of Rural Development Department.

The Secretary RDD, while speaking on the occasion, said that the works sanctioned under CAPEX budget have been given first priority in the district with a view to create durable assets to benefit the people.

Responding to the demands of the locals,  the Secretary directed the RDD officers to take in hand developmental works including leveling of grounds, construction of new lanes, drains, etc. She also directed to expedite the ongoing works.

Later, the Chief Guest gave away prizes and mementos to the students and encouraged them to showcase their talent on bigger platforms.

Assistant Commissioner Development, Sidarth Dhiman; District Panchayat Officer, Piyush Dhotra; District Development Council Member, Sudarshan Singh and people of the adjoining panchayats were present at the inaugural function.
