Kashmir, Feb 04 : Shab-e-Baraat was marked across the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday night as devotees assembled at mosques and shrines to offer special prayers, officials said. The occasion, often referred to as the night of forgiveness, was observed with deep religious devotion.
The observance comes roughly two weeks ahead of the holy month of Ramzan and holds significant spiritual importance for the faithful.
Visits to graveyards mark the occasion
Many people paid homage to their departed relatives by visiting graveyards, where candles were lit and prayers were recited in remembrance. The gatherings reflected longstanding traditions associated with the night, emphasising reflection, supplication, and charity.
Authorities reported peaceful observances throughout the region as communities participated in the rituals with customary reverence.
