AHMEDABAD, Sep 27: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday met Jain spiritual leader Acharya Padmasagar Surishwar Ji Maharaj in Shela, Ahmedabad, on the occasion of his 92nd birthday and sought his blessings.
Shah said the Acharya has preserved the rich traditions and ideals of Jainism through his life of spiritual discipline, restraint and service to society.
In a post on X, Shah said the spiritual leader’s discourses and penance have inspired numerous people to embrace non-violence, compassion and virtuous conduct.
He described Acharya Padmasagar Surishwar’s life as an example of dedication to spiritual practice and public service. Shah also expressed his wishes for the Acharya’s continued good health and said his blessings would continue to guide society.
During the programme, Shah, along with Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and other dignitaries, released the 43rd Kailas Shrutasagar Granthsuchi.
