Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to dazzle audiences as the host of the 70th Filmfare Awards in Ahmedabad. He will be joined by popular television host Maniesh Paul and filmmaker Karan Johar for the star-studded ceremony scheduled on October 11, 2025, at the EKA Arena near Kankaria Lake.
Filmfare announced the lineup on its official Instagram, calling Shah Rukh “The Superstar, The Icon, The Enigma” and teasing fans to “hold your hearts” for the upcoming event.
The state of Gujarat officially secured the awards ceremony in August through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) and Worldwide Media Private Limited in Gandhinagar, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. TCGL’s Managing Director Prabhav Joshi and Rohit Gopakumar from Worldwide Media formalized the agreement.
Under Gujarat’s Cinematic Tourism Policy 2022, the state has been promoting itself as a hub for film and entertainment. Hosting the Filmfare Awards marks a major milestone in this initiative. Chief Minister Patel highlighted the significance of the event, unveiling the iconic Filmfare Trophy, the “Black Lady,” and noting the potential of the film industry to boost local businesses, create employment, and promote indigenous products.
The Chief Minister emphasized that bringing Filmfare to Gujarat aligns with the national “Vocal for Local” initiative, fostering self-reliance and celebrating India’s thriving entertainment sector. The awards are expected to generate significant economic and cultural benefits for the state while offering Bollywood fans an unforgettable experience.
