Jammu: Continuing with the legacy of promoting the art and culture of the region besides providing a platform to the budding artists of Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu-based Bollywood director Shahid Kazmi has started the shooting of a Bollywood movie in Jammu.
The movie entitled “The Era of 1990 Part 2” is a sequel of the same name blockbuster that was released by Shahid Kazmi this year and had a large number of local artists from Jammu and Kashmir into it besides some big Bollywood names.
This movie is also being directed by him which has a star cast from Jammu, the mahurat shot of which was done today in the majestic Mubarak Mandi locations.
The director said that since he has made a large number of movies in Mumbai having taken many Bollywood stars in the past, he intends to give a buoy to the local artists of Jammu who are full of potential and dedication.
“ Jammu artists are the best and a cooperative lot. Besides, they are full of talent and energy to give their best. Though I have made many Bollywood movies with many Mumbai star cast, the new experience with the Jammu artists is very satisfying and electrifying,” said Kazmi adding that the whopping success of the ‘Era of 1990’ has propelled him and his team to make the sequel of the same movie taking old heritage sites of Jammu in the backdrop.
In the present movie, Juhi Kalsotra is playing the main female lead role who recently did a stage play named ‘The Last Seance ‘ written by Vikram Sharma and enacted the role of Paro to her histrionics best.
Arjun Manhas, another local lad who has done many Bollywood films is cast against her besides a long list of local top artists of the state acting in this movie.
Sapna Soni, the most senior and talented artist of Jammu and Kashmir is doing a stellar role in the movie supported by Rani Bhan and others.
The film which is scheduled to be shot in various Jammu heritage locations is likely to be packed up in January and scheduled for March release pan India
