Show doors to illegal immigrant Rohingyas: Kavinder

JAMMU,06-12-2024: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Friday called for the immediate deportation of Rohingyas, emphasizing that their presence in India, particularly in the sensitive region of Jammu & Kashmir, poses a significant security threat.
In a strongly worded statement to the media, Kavinder Gupta stressed that the illegal immigrants could easily be exploited by anti-national elements to create disturbances. He stated, “The presence of Rohingyas in a security-sensitive region like J&K is dangerous. It is imperative to take swift action to ensure their deportation in the interest of the nation’s safety and security.”
The BJP stalwart leader also expressed concerns about the illegal community’s potential involvement in activities detrimental to peace and national harmony. Highlighting the proactive measures taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Kavinder praised their efforts to identify and act against those providing shelter to Rohingyas. He commended the police for cracking down on property owners renting out their premises to these immigrants and aiding them in obtaining crucial documents like Aadhaar Cards through illegal means.
While appreciating the government’s decision to cut water and electricity supplies to properties occupied by Rohingyas, the senior BJP leader argued that more decisive measures are necessary. “Though disconnecting utilities is a step in the right direction, the looming threat posed by the large number of illegal foreigners across Jammu demands urgent attention from the central government. A mass deportation is the need of the hour,” he asserted.
Kavinder warned against complacency, urging the authorities to prioritize the issue, given its implications for the region’s security. “The government must act decisively to show these illegal immigrants the door. Any delay could lead to grave consequences for the country,” he added.
