Mumbai, Nov 16 : A major controversy has erupted in Bollywood after Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) uncovered a sprawling drug syndicate with alleged links to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. What began as a routine probe has now shaken the film and music industries, with reports suggesting possible connections involving several high-profile celebrities, including Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi.
The investigation centres on notorious drug trafficker Salim Dola, a close associate of Dawood who allegedly operated from Dubai. Authorities believe Dola ran an extensive international network supplying mephedrone (M-Cat/Meow Meow) across India and abroad.
The syndicate came into focus after Dola’s son, Taher Dola, was extradited from the UAE in August. His statements to investigators have offered critical insight into the network’s operations from the parties held to the personalities who attended them and the alleged flow of narcotics.
According to reports by India Today and other outlets, Taher claimed that several Bollywood actors, models, rappers, filmmakers, and even relatives of Dawood Ibrahim were present at lavish drug fuelled parties hosted by him in India and overseas. Remand documents reportedly state that Taher not only organised these gatherings but also supplied drugs at most of them.
Among the names surfacing in the ongoing probe are rapper Loka, actress Shraddha Kapoor, socialite Orry, and filmmaker duo Abbas–Mustan. Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of the late politician Baba Siddique, has also been linked through party attendance.
Public curiosity has intensified due to a striking coincidence: Shraddha Kapoor played Dawood’s sister Haseena Parkar in the 2017 biopic Haseena Parkar, while her brother Siddharth portrayed Dawood. Alisha Parkar, also mentioned in reports, is Haseena Parkar’s son.
As speculation mounts, some celebrities have begun issuing statements. Nora Fatehi responded strongly on Instagram Stories, writing:
“FYI I don’t go to parties… I’m constantly on flights… I’m a workaholic… I don’t associate myself with people like that… Please refrain from using my name and image in situations that have NOTHING to do with me! This will come with a heavy price!”
The investigation is ongoing, and the ANC is expected to question multiple individuals as it probes deeper into the Bollywood drug syndicate Dawood link.
