Samba, 16 December 2025: Emphasizing that the SIR (Selective Identification and Removal) is imperative for the democracy of the country and the sovereignty of our nation, J&K BJP Spokesperson Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu, stressed the importance of SIR and the stressed the need to counter the false narratives by the INDI alliance, while addressing a meeting at the Samba BJP office.
The meeting was organised by the District Samba unit of the BJP and was presided over by District President Asha Rani. J&K BJP Vice President and Prabhari Samba Rekha Mahajan, Secretary Arun Sharma, DDC Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma, Vice Chairman Balwan Singh, District General Secretaries Rakesh Pinta and Amit Dubey, along with all Mandal and Morcha Presidents, were present at the function.
While elaborating point by point, Dr. Shishu said that the discussion by Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament on electoral reforms has exposed the false narrative being built by opposition parties, led by the Congress, through misinformation and lies to mislead the country. He said it was actually the Congress which started SIR, and the practice has been continued by almost all successive Prime Ministers of India, starting from Jawaharlal Nehru till now.
Dr. Shishu said that SIR is an important exercise to enrol eligible voters, delete the names of those who are deceased, and remove infiltrators to ensure that the sanctity of elections is not eroded. He added that it is essential to ensure that not even a single infiltrator is allowed to elect public representatives who determine the destiny of around 150 crore Indians.
Further elaborating, Dr. Shishu said it sounds bizarre that the Congress party holds EVMs responsible for election manipulation, forgetting that EVMs were introduced by the Congress in 2004 and that they also won elections through EVMs. He said it reflects the intellectual bankruptcy of the Congress that they blame EVMs when they lose elections, but accept the same EVMs when results are in their favour, as is evident in many states.
Dr. Shishu further recalled the statement made by Amit Shah in Parliament that Congress has a history of manipulating elections and indulging in vote theft. He said vote theft took place in 1952 when Patel, who had 28 votes, was ignored and Jawaharlal Nehru was made the Prime Minister. He said election manipulation again took place when Indira Gandhi manipulated elections against Raj Narain, which was authenticated by the Allahabad High Court. Dr. Shishu said that Indira Gandhi later enacted a law in Parliament stating that no case could be registered against the Prime Minister and subsequently imposed Emergency, calling it a historic act of vote theft by the Congress.
Rekha Mahajan, Prabhari Samba, and District President Asha Rani welcomed all the participants and appealed to all office bearers to take this message to the booth level to expose the nefarious designs of the Congress. The programme was conducted by District General Secretary Rakesh Pinta.
