Haryana, Dec 03 : The Haryana government has intensified action against illegal narcotics trade, with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local police raiding a medical store in Sirsa district, seizing thousands of illegal intoxicant tablets, and arresting two individuals involved.
Acting on complaints of unauthorized drug sales, the FDA, under the guidance of State Health Minister Arti Singh Rao and Commissioner Sh. Manoj Kumar, conducted a raid at Khushi Medical Store in Dharampura village. Drug Control Officer Sunil Kumar, along with Singhpura Police, recovered 600 Tapentadol tablets and 1,200 Pregabalin (IP 300 mg) capsules. The store owner, Khushvinder Singh, failed to produce any purchase or sale records. Samples of the drugs were collected, the inspection report filed on Form-17, and the shop sealed. Further action under the Drugs and Control Act is underway.
In a separate operation near Dabwali, FDA and CIA Sirsa teams intercepted Amanpreet Singh and Vikas transporting 19,500 Tapdol tablets and 100 SR (Tapentadol Hydrochloride) tablets illegally. Both were identified as salespersons of the same firm. The seized drugs were documented under Form-16, and proceedings under the Drugs and Control Act have been initiated.
State Drug Controller Lalit Goyal confirmed that these raids demonstrate the government’s commitment to cracking down on illegal narcotics sales and ensuring strict enforcement of drug laws.
