MUMBAI, Nov 26: The much anticipated wedding of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal was paused earlier this month due to a sudden health emergency, sparking widespread speculation and unverified cheating allegations on platforms like Reddit, Instagram, and X.
The ceremony, originally scheduled for November 23, was postponed after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell critically ill, showing symptoms similar to a heart attack. Reports now indicate he is out of danger. The situation deeply affected Palash, who was admitted to a Mumbai hospital after his health deteriorated under stress. Palash’s mother told Hindustan Times that he insisted the wedding be postponed until Shrinivas recovered, and he was hospitalized for four hours for monitoring and treatment.
In the midst of social media rumors, Palash’s cousin, Neeti Tak, issued a public message defending him. Writing on her Instagram Stories, she urged fans to stop judging him without knowing the truth, highlighting how technology can often create misunderstandings. “You all should not judge Palash as wrong without knowing the truth… please pray for him instead of spreading negativity,” she wrote.
Smriti Mandhana also recently deleted wedding related posts from her Instagram, fueling further speculation. Fans are divided, with some interpreting it as confirmation of the rumors, while others argue it is a measure to protect family privacy during a difficult time.
The couple has been together since 2019 but maintained a low profile, making their relationship public in July 2024 through a special anniversary post celebrating five years together.
